Pet owners can't see how an outfit will look on their own pet
Pet apparel is photographed on one dog, and shoppers own a different one. Breeds differ in shape, coat and proportions, so a sweater that looks good on the product photo can look very different on a Dachshund or a Bulldog. Owners have to guess, and many leave without ordering.
- Product photos show a different breed from the shopper's pet
- Size labels vary between pet apparel brands
- Genlook shows the outfit on a photo of the shopper's own pet

How Genlook shows apparel on a photo of a pet
Works on dogs and cats
Genlook finds the head, neck and body of the pet in the photo and places harnesses and sweaters on them.
Shows the look on each breed
Owners see how a piece looks on their own pet's shape and coat, whether it is a Dachshund, a Bulldog or a cat.
Works with the photos owners already have
Standing or sitting photos both work. Owners can upload an existing photo or take one with their camera.
Shareable results
Owners can share a try-on with a link. Pet photos are often shared, which shows your product to new people.

Where stores use try-on
Product pages
Shoppers see the outfit on a photo of their own dog or cat, next to the add-to-cart button.
Browsing the collection
Shoppers reuse the same pet photo to try harnesses, sweaters and coats in one visit.
Launches and social sharing
Shoppers can share a try-on with a link, which shows your product to their friends and followers.
Why pet apparel is hard to sell with product photos alone
Pet apparel has the same sizing problem as the rest of e-commerce, plus two of its own: sizing is not standard across brands, and the pet can't try anything on. Across e-commerce, 40% of returns trace back to size selection. A clear size chart remains the right tool for that part of the decision.
The other part is how the piece looks on the owner's pet. Genlook shows the outfit on a photo the owner already has, so they can judge color, cut and style on their own dog or cat. Owners can also share the result with a link. The live demo shows how petwear renders.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work for both dogs and cats?
Yes. Shoppers can upload a photo of a dog or a cat, and Genlook places the apparel on the pet's back, chest and neck.
What kind of pet photos work best?
A clear photo of the pet standing or sitting, facing forward or slightly to the side, on a plain background. Genlook adapts the garment to the pet's pose.
Can I use this for pet accessories like collars?
Yes. Collars and bandanas are placed around the pet's neck.
Does it replace measuring for size?
No. Try-on shows how the piece looks on the pet. It does not measure the pet or pick a size, so keep your size chart on the product page.
Are photos private?
Yes. Uploaded photos are encrypted in transit and at rest, never used to train AI models, and deleted automatically after 7 days.
What does it cost?
The Free plan includes 10 try-ons a month, and no card is required. Paid plans include more try-ons each month.
