# Plans, Billing & Usage

> How Genlook virtual try-on pricing works: what counts as a try-on, how the monthly allowance resets, and how to change plans.

Every Genlook plan includes a monthly try-on allowance. The home page of the app always shows where you stand: your current plan, usage against the allowance, and the date your usage resets. **Manage plan** takes you to the plans page, where you can compare plans and switch at any time; on Shopify, charges go through your regular Shopify invoice.

## What counts against your allowance

* **One photo try-on = one try-on.** Retries and additional products each count as their own try-on.
* **All surfaces share the same allowance**: the storefront widget, [in-store QR codes](/docs/virtual-tryon/retail), and try-ons run through the [SDK and API](/docs/virtual-tryon/sdk). There is no separate subscription per channel.
* **[Live Try-On](/docs/virtual-tryon/app/live-tryon) sessions cost more** than photo try-ons (the rate is shown next to its toggle in Settings), because real-time rendering is heavier to run.

Failed generations are not billed against you.

## When you approach the limit

The app warns you on the home page as you approach your allowance. What happens at the limit depends on your plan; the exact behavior and any overage terms are always stated on the plans page before you pick a plan. On the free plan, try-on pauses until your usage resets or you upgrade.

If you want a ceiling of your own below the plan's, set a [Monthly Generation Cap](/docs/virtual-tryon/app/tryon-settings#monthly-cap): a hard stop you control, so a viral spike can never surprise you.

<Tip>
  Per-shopper [generation limits](/docs/virtual-tryon/app/tryon-settings#per-shopper-limits) are the other half of cost control: they stop a single shopper from consuming a meaningful share of your monthly allowance.
</Tip>

## Plan-gated features

Some features depend on your plan; the plans page lists exactly what each includes. The most visible one is the **watermark**: on entry plans try-on images carry the Genlook watermark, and higher plans can remove it or [replace it with your own logo](/docs/virtual-tryon/app/tryon-settings#watermark).

## Billing on WooCommerce and PrestaShop

Non-Shopify stores manage their plan at [app.genlook.app/billing](https://app.genlook.app/billing). The allowance mechanics are identical; only the payment rail differs.
