# Frequently Asked Questions

> Answers about Genlook Virtual Try-On for Shopify: supported products, pricing, page speed, mobile support, email collection, and sharing.

## The product

  <Accordion title="What is Genlook Virtual Try-On?">
    A Shopify app that adds an AI try-on button to your product pages. Shoppers upload a photo or take a selfie and see a realistic image of themselves wearing your product, usually within 10 to 20 seconds.

  <Accordion title="Which products work best?">
    Upper and full-body apparel: shirts, tops, dresses, jackets, knitwear. Clear, front-facing product photography gives the most realistic results. Accessories and footwear are not the focus today.

  <Accordion title="Is the widget branded Genlook?">
    No. The widget is whitelabel: shoppers see your store's colors, your copy, and your product imagery. You control the look in the app's Widget Design tab.

## Installation

  <Accordion title="Do I need a developer?">
    No. Install the app, enable the app embed, add the button block in the theme editor, and enable products. The [setup guide](/docs/virtual-tryon/widget-setup) covers it; most merchants are live in under 10 minutes. Developer options exist for [custom buttons](/docs/virtual-tryon/custom-button) and [fully custom flows](/docs/virtual-tryon/custom-flow), but they are optional.

  <Accordion title="Will it work with my theme?">
    Yes on any Online Store 2.0 theme, which covers all modern Shopify themes. Older vintage (1.0) themes are supported through a [small Liquid snippet](/docs/virtual-tryon/vintage-theme). If you are unsure which you have, install the app and check whether the block appears in your theme editor.

  <Accordion title="Can I style the button to match my brand?">
    Yes: color, text, size, style, corner radius, and icon are all settings on the theme block, plus a Custom CSS field for anything else. See [widget setup](/docs/virtual-tryon/widget-setup#style-the-button-theme-editor).

## Pricing and credits

    Pricing is volume-based: plans differ by how many try-on generations you get per month. Current plans and the free trial are listed on the [Shopify App Store](https://apps.shopify.com/genlook-virtual-try-on?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=website).

  <Accordion title="Can I change plans later?">
    Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time from the Billing page in the app, and changes take effect immediately.

  <Accordion title="Can I cap my spend?">
    Yes. Set a Monthly Generation Cap in Settings for a hard ceiling, and per-shopper daily or weekly limits to keep individual usage reasonable.

## Features

  <Accordion title="Can shoppers share their try-on results?">
    Yes. Shoppers can save the image or share a public link to their result, which links back to the product on your store.

  <Accordion title="Can I collect emails with the try-on?">
    Yes. Turn on the Email Collection Step in Settings to ask for an email before or after the try-on. Collected shoppers are tagged in Shopify and added to a "Virtual Try-On Users by Genlook" segment, and can sync to [Klaviyo](/docs/virtual-tryon/integrations/klaviyo).

    Yes, with [Retail & Site Integration](/docs/virtual-tryon/retail-integration): per-product QR codes that open a standalone try-on page, no storefront needed.

## Performance and privacy

  <Accordion title="Will the widget slow down my store?">
    No. The script loads asynchronously and the try-on UI only loads when a shopper interacts with it, so it does not affect your page speed scores.

  <Accordion title="Does it work on mobile?">
    Yes. Shoppers can take a photo with their phone camera directly in the widget. All modern browsers on desktop, iOS, and Android are supported.

  <Accordion title="How long are shopper photos kept?">
    You choose. The Customer Image Retention setting controls how long photos are stored so returning shoppers can skip re-uploading; shorter retention means stricter privacy.
