Best Practices
To get the most out of Genlook and ensure the highest quality AI generations, follow these guidelines for your store and your customers.
For Merchants: Product Images
The AI relies heavily on the quality of your product photos.
- Neutral Background: Use white or light grey backgrounds. Avoid busy or cluttered backgrounds.
- Ghost Mannequin or Flat Lay: These work best as they show the full shape of the garment clearly.
- High Resolution: Ensure images are at least 1024px wide.
- Front-Facing: The primary image should show the front of the garment clearly.
- Avoid Hangers: If possible, remove hangers or props that obscure the clothing.
For Customers: User Photos
Guide your customers to upload the best photos for try-on. We recommend adding a small note or tooltip on your product page.
The "Mirror Selfie"
The best results often come from a Mirror Selfie.
- Why? It naturally captures the full upper body and provides a realistic angle.
- How? Stand in front of a mirror, hold the phone at chest level, and snap a photo.
Other Tips
- Good Lighting: Ensure the photo is bright and evenly lit. Avoid strong shadows.
- Tight Clothing: Wear form-fitting clothes (like a tank top) so the AI can accurately map the new garment onto the body shape.
- Pose: Stand straight with arms slightly away from the body. Avoid crossing arms or covering the torso.
- No Obstructions: Long hair should be tied back or placed behind shoulders if it covers the chest area significantly.
Optimizing Conversion
- Button Placement: Place the "Try On" button near the "Add to Cart" button.
- Clear Call-to-Action: Use text like "See it on you" or "Virtual Fitting Room".
- Educate: Use our "How it works" tooltip or create a dedicated section on your site explaining the feature.
