Thibault Mathian is the founder of Genlook, an AI virtual try-on platform for fashion e-commerce. Before Genlook, he spent several years building apps for Shopify merchants, where he saw that virtual try-on was out of reach for most fashion stores: it needed 3D scans, long contracts and months of integration. He started Genlook in 2025 in Grenoble, France, to make try-on work from the product photos a store already has. He leads product and engineering, including the generation pipeline behind hundreds of thousands of try-ons on more than a thousand stores, and the Try-On API used by developers. He writes about virtual try-on, generative image models, and the conversion and returns data behind fashion e-commerce, drawing on Genlook's first-party store data.
