Live Try-On is real-time virtual try-on. Instead of uploading a photo and waiting for a generated image, the shopper opens their camera and sees the garment on themselves live, as they move. It is the closest thing to a mirror your product page can offer.
Live Try-On is in Beta. It is off by default and entirely opt-in; the classic photo try-on keeps working unchanged whether or not you enable it.

Enable it

1

Turn on the toggle

In the Genlook app, open Settings → Try-on experience and turn on Live try-on. A confirmation explains the credit usage before anything changes on your store.
2

Add the Live Try-On button to your theme

Once the toggle is on, a second app block called Genlook Live Try-On becomes available in your Shopify theme editor. Add it to your product template next to the regular try-on button. It has the same styling settings as the standard button (text, color, style, size, icon), with a camera icon by default.
3

Test it

Open an enabled product on your storefront, tap the live try-on button, and allow camera access. You should see yourself with the garment on, in real time.
Live Try-On follows the same product visibility rules as the classic button: it only appears on enabled products.

How usage is counted

Live sessions are more compute-intensive than photo try-ons, so they draw more from your plan:
  • A live session runs for up to 20 seconds and uses 4 try-on credits from your plan.
  • Each shopper gets up to 1 minute of live try-on per week, so a single shopper cannot burn through your allowance.
The exact rates are always shown next to the toggle in Settings before you enable it.

Tips for the beta

  • Live Try-On needs a device camera, so it is primarily a mobile experience.
  • Keep the standard photo try-on button alongside it. Photo try-on produces a shareable, saveable image; live try-on is the instant wow. They complement each other.
  • As a beta feature, behavior and pricing may still evolve. Feedback is very welcome at support@genlook.app.
