Open Settings in the Genlook app. The page has three tabs: Try-on experience, Limits & data, and General.
Try-on experience
Email collection
The Email Collection Step asks shoppers for their email inside the try-on flow. Set it to 0 to require an email before the first try-on, or to a higher number to ask only after that many free try-ons. Collected emails become leads in your integrations: Shopify customer records, segments, Klaviyo profiles, or webhook events.
Asking after the first try-on converts noticeably better than asking before it: the shopper has already seen the value.
Customer access
Turn on Logged-in customers only to restrict try-on to signed-in customers. Anonymous shoppers see a login prompt instead of the upload step. Most stores leave this off; it is useful when try-on is a loyalty perk or when you want every try-on tied to a customer account.
Publishable key
The Publishable key section issues the pk_ key developers use to run try-ons from custom code, native apps, or headless storefronts. It is safe to embed client-side. See the SDK guide for what it can do and how to use it.
Live Try-On (Beta)
The Live try-on toggle enables real-time camera try-on on your product pages. It has its own page: Live Try-On.
Watermark
By default, try-on images carry a small watermark. Depending on your plan you can remove it or upload your own logo, so shared try-on images market your brand instead. The same logo is reused on your in-store QR codes.
Limits & data
Per-shopper limits
Generation Limits caps how many try-ons one shopper can run: set Max Generations Per User and a Limit Period (daily or weekly). When shoppers hit the limit, the widget tells them when they can try again. This keeps one enthusiastic shopper from consuming a meaningful share of your plan.
Monthly cap
The Monthly Generation Cap is a hard ceiling on total try-ons per month across your whole store, so a viral product cannot surprise you on billing. When the cap is reached, the button hides itself until the next cycle. You can raise, lower, or remove the cap at any time.
Photo retention
Customer Image Retention controls how long shopper photos are kept: 1, 3, or 7 days. Within that window, returning shoppers can reuse their photo instead of re-uploading. After it, photos are deleted automatically. Shorter retention is the more privacy-conservative choice; longer retention is the smoother repeat experience.
General
- App Language sets the language of the Genlook admin interface.
- Default product image index sets which product image the AI uses by default when a product has no per-product override. For example, if your first image is always a flat-lay and the second is the model shot, set it to the second.
Where these settings apply
Every setting on this page applies across all try-on surfaces: the storefront widget, in-store QR codes, and the SDK and API. On WooCommerce and PrestaShop the same settings live under Genlook → Settings in your site’s admin.
