Why product schema matters

Google reads Product structured data to show price, stock status and review stars directly in search results. These rich results stand out on the page and earn more clicks than plain blue links. Valid Product markup is also required if you want your items to appear in free product listings on the Shopping tab. Most themes ship with basic markup only, and many apps break it. What is Product schema?
Product schema is structured data that describes a product in a machine-readable format called JSON-LD. Search engines read it to understand your product's name, price, availability and reviews, and can use it to show a rich result with stars and pricing directly in search results.
Where do I add the JSON-LD on my Shopify store?
Paste the script tag into your product template, for example in sections/main-product.liquid or through a custom liquid block. Many themes already output basic Product markup, so check with Google's Rich Results Test that you are not publishing two conflicting blocks for the same product.
Do I need a GTIN or SKU?
They are optional, but recommended. A GTIN (barcode number) helps Google match your product to its catalog and improves eligibility for shopping experiences. If you do not have a GTIN, include a SKU and brand so the product can still be identified.
Will this guarantee review stars in Google?
No tool can guarantee rich results. Valid markup makes your pages eligible, and Google decides when to show them based on the query and the quality of your site. Invalid markup, however, guarantees you will not get them, so validating is always worth it.
Is this generator really free?
