Try-ons are now 2.4x faster
The median try-on now takes about 5 seconds, down from 12.5 seconds in August. 72% of try-ons finish in under 10 seconds, up from 6%.

A try-on only helps if the shopper is still on the page when it arrives. Over the last six weeks we rebuilt how try-ons are generated, and the typical wait has dropped from 12.5 seconds to about 5.
The numbers
Measured on every completed try-on, from the moment the shopper sends the photo to the moment the result is ready:
| August 2026 | October 6 to 19, 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| Median try-on | 12.5 s | 5.1 s |
| Try-ons finished in under 10 seconds | 6% | 72% |
What changed
- Our own GPUs. Try-ons now run on GPU servers we operate, with an open image model set up for fashion try-on.
- Less work per try-on. We removed a step the model computed on every request but never used, and shrank the image the model reads for context. Quality stays the same, and the result arrives sooner.
- Smarter routing. Each request goes to the GPU that can start it first, with a fallback when traffic peaks.
What you need to do
Nothing. Every store and every Try-On API request already uses the faster pipeline.
What comes next
The slowest try-ons have not improved as much yet: about one in ten still takes more than 25 seconds, mostly during traffic peaks and on hard photos. That tail is what we are working on now.
