Quick answer: for most fashion stores, Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender is still the default: it has the most reviews on the App Store by a wide margin and the deepest chart tooling. If you want shoppers to get an actual answer instead of a table, Genlook's AI size chart (our product, in beta and free during the beta) reads the chart you already have and gives each shopper a personalised size recommendation with the reason. On a tight budget, MP Size Chart includes an AI size recommender even on its free plan, and Pify is entirely free.
Size charts are one of the few apps almost every apparel store installs. They are also one of the least read parts of a product page. The chart usually sits behind a link, asks the shopper to measure themselves, and leaves them to work out which row is theirs on a phone. When they can't, they guess, or order two sizes and send one back, a habit called bracketing.
The Shopify size chart category has split into three kinds of apps in 2026:
- Static charts: a table or image per product or collection, in a pop-up or inline.
- Size recommenders: a fit quiz or form that turns the shopper's answers into a suggested size.
- Conversational sizing: an AI assistant that reads your chart and answers the shopper's question in plain language.
Most stores need the first. The second and third are where the return savings are supposed to come from.
How we chose
Full disclosure: Genlook is our company, and our AI size chart is ranked second. Read that pick knowing it. It is also in beta: it runs on Shopify stores that use Genlook virtual try-on, and it is free during the beta.
Every other app was evaluated on its Shopify App Store listing and pricing page, read on October 20, 2026: rating, review count, plans, features and the Built for Shopify badge. We did not install every app on a test store, and nobody paid to be listed. Where a vendor makes a returns claim, we say whose claim it is.
We also looked at which size chart apps fashion stores actually run. We scanned the product pages of the fashion stores that use Genlook in October 2026. Among the stores running one of the size chart apps we detect, about half used Kiwi (49%), followed by Pify (18%), MP (13%), BF by Relentless (11%) and SmartSize (9%). The sample only covers stores that already use our try-on app, so read it as a signal of what fashion merchants pick, not a market share.
1. Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender
Best for: stores that want the most complete chart tooling and a proven app
Rating: 4.7 (1,242 reviews) · Built for Shopify: no
Price: free (3 charts, watermark), then $7.99, $14.99 and $26.99/mo, 14-day trial
Kiwi has been on the App Store since 2018 and has far more reviews than any other size chart app. It was also the size chart app we found most often on fashion stores. It handles the full chart workflow: charts assigned by product or collection and applied automatically to new products, imports from images, descriptions or CSV, 22 templates, and multiple tables, images and videos per chart.
- Pros:
- Deep chart builder: tabs, images, video and multiple tables in one chart.
- Imports: build charts from an image or your product descriptions instead of typing them.
- Units switch by location, and charts auto-translate (2 languages on Premium, up to 22 on Ultimate).
- Size recommenders with analytics on the Plus plan and above.
- Cons:
- Order-based fees: Plus and Ultimate add a monthly fee based on your store's total orders in the last 30 days (up to +$350/mo on Plus and +$700/mo on Ultimate above 20,000 orders, per Kiwi's pricing page). Recent reviews complain about it. Check your order volume before upgrading.
- Not Built for Shopify, unlike most of the apps below.
- Recommenders aren't on the cheaper plans.
- Verdict: the safe default for building and managing charts. If you outgrow Premium, model the order-based fee first.
2. Genlook AI size chart (that's us)
Best for: stores that already have a size chart and want shoppers to get an answer, not a table
Status: beta, on Shopify stores that use Genlook
Price: free during the beta
A size chart answers every shopper's question at once, which is why so few read it. Genlook's AI size chart does the opposite: it reads the chart your store already publishes and answers one shopper at a time, in a short conversation on the product page.
The shopper asks "which size should I take?". The assistant asks only what that garment needs: height and chest for a blazer, waist and inseam for jeans, or the size they usually wear when they don't know their measurements. It then replies with the size your chart points to and the measurement that decided it, for example "Size M. Your chest is 90 cm and the chart puts M at 88 to 92 cm."
It doesn't replace the apps on this list. It reads charts from Kiwi, Pify, MP, SmartSize and BF, from a size guide page, or from a chart published as an image. So the realistic setup is #1 plus #2: Kiwi (or any app here) to build the chart, Genlook to answer shoppers from it.
- Pros:
- Answers instead of a table: one size and the reason, in the shopper's language, in cm or inches.
- Works with the chart you have: no rebuilding or re-entering anything.
- Understands each shopper: it reasons over what the shopper tells it (measurements, usual size, how they like a piece to fit) and the cut of the garment, then gives a personalised recommendation instead of a generic row in a table.
- Remembers the shopper: answers are saved on their device, so the next product starts filled in.
- Next to virtual try-on: shoppers see the piece on their own photo, then ask for their size in the same window. Try-on answers "does it suit me", the chart answers "which size do I order".
- White-label: it carries your store's name, not ours.
- Cons (yes, we have them):
- Still in beta. Free while it lasts; pricing after the beta isn't announced yet.
- Needs Genlook virtual try-on. It runs inside the Genlook window on your product pages.
- Only as accurate as your chart. It reads your measurements; it doesn't guess fit from a photo or invent conversions.
- Shopify first; other platforms later.
- Verdict: if your chart is already good and the problem is that shoppers don't use it, this is the piece that turns it into an answer. If you also want product recommendations and outfits, the same answers come with our AI shopping assistant.

3. MP Size Chart & Size Guide
Best for: the best free plan, with an AI size recommender included
Rating: 5.0 (871 reviews) · Built for Shopify: yes
Price: free (3 charts), then $6.95, $12.95 and $24.95/mo, 14-day trial
MP is the second most reviewed app in the category and has the strongest free offer. Its AI size recommender ("fit finder") is included on every plan, with monthly recommendation quotas on the paid plans (800 on Growth, 2,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Advanced). The listing still lives on the avada-size-chart URL.
- Pros:
- AI size recommender on the free plan.
- 30+ templates covering apparel, footwear, jewelry and pets, plus CSV bulk import.
- Flexible display: floating button, inline, dropdown, or next to the size options, plus a dedicated size guide page.
- Admin in 20 languages, free migration from other apps.
- Cons:

4. Smart Size Chart & Size Guide (SmartSize)
Best for: a dedicated "Find my size" fit quiz
Rating: 4.9 (147 reviews) · Built for Shopify: yes
Price: free (2 charts), $9 and $12/mo for charts, fit quiz from $19/mo, 14-day trial
SmartSize leans hardest into recommendation. Its "Find my size" quiz combines AI with rules, and remembers the shopper across products and visits. Charts can be generated by AI from a photo or screenshot, and there are templates for men, women, kids, lingerie and pets.
- Pros:
- Fit quiz that remembers the shopper across products and visits.
- No overage fees: past your quota, recommendations slow down by about 5 seconds instead of billing you more (SmartSize pricing).
- Fit scale bar, AI translation and international size conversion.
- Cons:
- The quiz starts on the Pro plans ($19/mo for 100 quiz users, up to $499/mo for 10,000).
- Quiz pricing scales with usage, so busy stores pay more.
- Verdict: the strongest pick if you want a structured fit quiz rather than a chart.
5. Pify Size Charts & Size Guides
Best for: a completely free, clean size chart
Rating: 5.0 (42 reviews) · Built for Shopify: yes
Price: free
Pify is the newest app here (May 2025) and currently ranks first in the App Store's search results for "size chart". It's entirely free. Its distinctive feature is showing a size's measurements in real time when the shopper hovers that size option, so they don't need to open a chart at all.
- Pros:
- Free, with no paid tier listed.
- Hover-to-see sizing on the size options.
- Multiple tables and tabs, cm/inch converter, templates, pop-up or comparison table.
- Cons:
- No size recommender listed.
- Newer, with far fewer reviews than Kiwi or MP.
- Verdict: the easiest yes if you just need good-looking charts and don't want another subscription.
6. CSC Size Chart & Size Guide
Best for: stores that want setup done for them
Rating: 4.9 (98 reviews) · Built for Shopify: yes
Price: free (2 charts), $6.99 and $14.99/mo, Plus from $29.99/mo, 14-day trial
CSC (Clean Size Charts) generates charts from your product data with AI and assigns them automatically by collection, vendor or type. Its standout is service: free done-for-you setup and free migration from another app.
- Pros:
- Free done-for-you setup and migration.
- AI chart generation from product data, charts per country, translations.
- AI size recommendations from the Advanced plan (500/mo), unlimited on Plus.
- Cons:
- Plus scales with your monthly orders, up to $299.99/mo above 5,000 orders.
- Verdict: a good choice if you'd rather not build charts yourself.

7. BF Size Chart & Size Guide

Rating: 4.7 (135 reviews) · Built for Shopify: yes
Price: free (3 charts), then $2.99, $5.99 and $11.99/mo, 14-day trial
BF, from Relentless Apps (formerly "Best Fit Size Charts"), has been around since 2018 and does static charts well and cheaply: charts by collection or product tag, cm/inch conversion, measurement guides, ring size charts, and a link right next to the size label.
- Pros:
- Cheapest paid plans on this list.
- Ring size charts, multiple charts per product, import/export.
- Cons:
- No size recommender.
- English-only admin.
- Verdict: pick it when you want reliable charts and nothing more.

8. Jotly Size Chart & Size Guide
Best for: knowing which charts shoppers actually open
Rating: 5.0 (77 reviews) · Built for Shopify: yes
Price: free (2 guides, no watermark), then $6.99, $14.99 and $24.99/mo, 7-day trial
Jotly has the biggest template library on this list (123 templates on the free plan) and the most useful analytics: top charts by views and by add-to-cart, split by mobile and desktop. Charts can be assigned by product, collection, tag or vendor.
- Pros:
- Chart analytics tied to add-to-cart, plus Google and Meta pixel integration.
- 123 templates and no watermark, even on the free plan.
- Units from mm to feet, size scale bar, placement next to the size label.
- Cons:
- No size recommender listed.
- Translation needs the $14.99/mo plan.
- Verdict: a good pick if you want data on how your charts are used.
Enterprise size recommenders
Large brands with high return rates often skip chart apps and buy a dedicated recommendation engine. Three have Shopify apps:
- True Fit: AI size guidance for apparel and footwear, from $1,000/mo (up to 150,000 annual orders).
- WAIR: size and fit recommendations with fit reviews, $125/mo including 250 orders, then $0.50 per WAIR-enabled order.
- Fit Quiz by Easysize: quiz-based recommendations at SKU level, $35 to $250/mo plus $0.15 per item added to cart with a recommendation. Easysize claims returns drop by 30% on average; that is the vendor's own figure.
Fit Analytics (Snap) and Bold Metrics serve enterprise retailers too, but neither has a size recommender on the Shopify App Store.

How to choose a size chart app
1. Decide what the shopper should get: a table or an answer
A static chart is enough when your sizing is standard and your shoppers know their size. If size is the question your customers ask most (it was the most typed question in our shopping assistant pilot), give them an answer: a recommender (MP, SmartSize, Kiwi Plus) or a conversational assistant (Genlook).
2. Read the pricing model, not just the price
Several apps charge by usage: Kiwi's upper plans and CSC Plus by store orders, SmartSize's quiz by users, WAIR by order and Fit Quiz by add-to-cart. A $15 app can cost several hundred dollars a month at volume. Our return cost calculator helps you check whether the savings cover it.
3. Check placement and speed
Prefer apps that install as theme app blocks or embeds, and that can place the link or answer right next to the size options, where shoppers are making the decision. Most apps above are Built for Shopify, which includes performance requirements.
4. Plan for international shoppers
If you sell abroad, check unit conversion (cm and inches), regional size systems and chart translation. These are often on paid plans only.
Conclusion
A size chart app is cheap insurance against returns, and almost every option here has a free plan worth trying. Kiwi remains the most established choice, MP is the best free recommender, SmartSize has the best fit quiz, and Pify is the best fully free chart.
The gap none of the classic apps close is the shopper who never opens the chart. That's what we built the Genlook AI size chart for: it reads the chart you already have and gives each shopper one size and the reason, next to virtual try-on. Don't have a chart yet? Our free size chart generator builds one in a minute.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
What is the best size chart app for Shopify?↓
Kiwi Size Chart & Recommender is the most established, with 1,242 reviews and the deepest chart tooling. For a free option with an AI recommender, MP Size Chart is the strongest. If you want shoppers to get one size with a reason instead of reading a table, Genlook's AI size chart (our product, in beta and free during the beta) answers from the chart you already have.
Is there a free size chart app for Shopify?↓
Yes. Pify Size Charts & Size Guides is completely free. Kiwi, MP, BF, SmartSize, CSC and Jotly all have free plans limited to 2 or 3 charts, and MP's free plan also includes AI size recommendations.
What's the difference between a size chart and a size recommender?↓
A size chart is a table of measurements per size; the shopper works out their own size. A size recommender asks the shopper a few questions (height, weight, usual size, fit preference) and suggests a size. A conversational assistant like Genlook's AI size chart reads your chart and answers the shopper's question in plain language, with the reason.
Do size chart apps reduce returns?↓
They can help with size-related returns, but treat the numbers carefully. None of the App Store listings above state a returns figure. The figures that exist are vendors' own claims, such as Easysize's 30% average reduction. The reliable way to know is to compare your size-related return rate before and after.
Does Genlook replace my size chart app?↓
No. Genlook's AI size chart reads the chart you already publish, including charts from Kiwi, Pify, MP, SmartSize and BF, a size guide page or a chart image. Keep your size chart app to manage charts, and let Genlook answer shoppers from them.
Why is my Kiwi Size Chart bill higher than the plan price?↓
Kiwi's Plus and Ultimate plans add a monthly fee based on your store's total orders in the last 30 days, not only orders that used a chart. Above 20,000 orders, that's up to $350/mo extra on Plus and $700/mo on Ultimate, per Kiwi's pricing page.
Will a size chart app slow down my store?↓
Apps that install as Shopify theme app blocks or embeds load separately from your page and are removed cleanly when you uninstall. Most apps on this list are Built for Shopify, which includes performance requirements.
